About
Andy Wrba is a native of Berkshire County and a central fixture of it's thriving musical community. andy founded the berkshire jazz collective in 2012 as a platform to showcase the talent and diversity of a multitude of local and regional artists, creating music and projects that supports the Berkshires and beyond. Andy developed and curated a weekly jazz residency on Monday nights at Mission in Pittsfield which ran from spring 2011 through fall 2022 that featured over 200 different musicians, including some legends such as charles neville, benito gonzalez, and makaya mccraven. He currently keeps an active performance schedule throughout the region and can typically be found on stage with some of his favorite musicians, including conor meehan, benny kohn, wanda houston, ed moran, tory hanna, and many others.
beyond the berkshires, andy was an original member of the band, barefoot truth. with several full length albums, eps, live albums, and multiple national tours, Barefoot Truth is a symbol of independent music success. andy was also the music director at the darrow school for 9 nine years where he designed a student-centered, dynamic curriculum and built meaningful musical connections between students and the surrounding community.
Andy is currently the Program director for Mill Town Foundation, overseeing community programs and partnerships and continues to curate and produce events such as tanglewood in the city, common ground festival, Lenox Jazz Stroll, wandering dance festival, and more.
